April at Hever Castle

Step into Hever Castle’s garden this spring. The gardens have awoken and ignited into life with plenty of vibrant colour in the Italian Garden, whilst pastel pink magnolia and cherry hues surround the Castle courtyard. There’s never been a better time to fall in love with the Kent countryside. April is set to be the most exciting month of the year yet and don’t forget we are open daily until 6pm.

The tulips are busy creating a carnival of colour through the grounds, plus make some special family memories over the May Day Weekend dancing around the maypole.

Anne Boleyn portrait - Hever Castle

Anne Boleyn 19 May 1536

On the 19th May 1536, Anne Boleyn was executed in the Tower of London after being the Queen of England for only 1000 days.

To pay tribute, Anne Boleyn’s 1527 printed Book of Hours will be turned to the page that bears her poignant signed inscription: ‘Remember me when you do pray that hope doth lead from day to day. Anne Boleyn.’

To preserve the signature we are unable to have this page on display at all times, so this is an extremely special time for all those who visit Hever Castle.

Visitors will be able to see Anne Boleyn’s signature on Saturday 18 May and Sunday 19 May 2024.

Please note, we are now offering Behind the Scenes Tours as some rooms in the Castle will be closed until 25 June – learn more.
