Astor Wing Weddings

Always dreamt of a country wedding? The Astor Wing is a charming Edwardian wing of Hever Castle, designed in Tudor style, commissioned by William Waldorf Astor in 1903. Craftsman used original Tudor tools in order to retain the authenticity of the Tudor era. The result is a series of beautiful Tudor style buildings joined to Hever Castle, offering magnificent oak panelling, ornate fireplaces, antique furnishings and an eclectic art collection. Today, the Astor Wing offers an ‘Exclusive Use’ venue in one of the most historic and beautiful settings in England.

Ceremony: Tudor Suite Sitting Room

The oak panelled Tudor Suite Sitting Room, overlooking the Castle and formal lawns, provides the perfect setting for an intimate ceremony for up to 60 guests.

Weather permitting, outdoor ceremonies can be held on the Tudor Suite lawn looking across the moat and onto the Castle. Or let us arrange a stretch tent to guarantee this picturesque location rather than relying on the weather.

Drinks Reception: Tudor Suite Terrace

Reception drinks are taken in the Music Room, or, weather permitting, on the Tudor Suite Terrace overlooking the croquet lawn and moat.

Or for exclusive use weddings you can have your drinks reception in the Bed & Breakfast Courtyard.

Wedding Breakfast: Tudor Suite Dining Room

The Tudor Suite Dining Room, shrouded with oak panelling and boasting a magnificent fire place, can accommodate up to 60 guests for a wedding breakfast.

Evening Reception

For Astor Wing weddings, there several options to consider for an evening reception. Some of our couples choose to stay to enjoy the Tudor Suite after the wedding breakfast, with a bar facility and possibly some casino tables with soft seating and music. As the Tudor Suite is not suited to dancing, a tipi or stretch tent can be hired, positioned on the Tudor Suite lawn which offers stunning views across the moat to the floodlit Castle. There’s also the option to host the evening reception under a sailcloth marquee on the adjacent Winter Garden Lawn. On certain dates, the Guthrie Pavilion can be hired which is a short walk through the gardens. Palladian style the Guthrie Pavilion is a contemporary lake-side venue located adjacent to the Rose Garden. Further Details

Wedding photographs can be taken in the Astor Wing and the surrounding gardens. A time can be arranged for photographers to take shots in front of the Castle and in the Italian Garden and on the Loggia. 

There is also a private car park for Castle wedding venue parties, accessed via the private gated entrance to the Astor Wing.

Accommodation

There are 17 luxury, five star bedrooms located in The Astor Wing. Guests can check in from 3pm and check out the next morning is by 10.30am.

We have a total of 26 bedrooms on the Hever Castle Estate, however, should you require more than the 18 bedrooms in The Astor Wing, one of our wedding planners will be happy to discuss the possibility of incorporating these additional nine bedrooms into your wedding.

Catering

The stunning location in the heart of the Garden of England is complemented by a varied menu which offers a choice of seasonal dishes, produced by our own highly acclaimed and talented team of chefs.

We believe that your guests’ enjoyment of our food is fundamental to the success of your event and should you have any specific requirements, our Chef would be happy to discuss them with you and create your perfect menu.
