dazzling Daffodils: 14 – 20 March 2022

With 60,000 daffodil bulbs set to bloom across Hever Castle’s gardens this spring, feel uplifted by the cheerfulness of this exquisite bloom which symbolises new beginnings.

During Dazzling Daffodils you will be able to take a tour with head gardener Neil Miller, bulb-master Johnny Walkers (holder of 25 RHS Chelsea gold-medals for his daffodils) or Hever Castle’s gardeners. Alternatively you can wander through the gardens at your own leisurely pace and take in the beauty of the daffodils.

We’ve planted thousands of new daffodils and there will be a couple of unusual varieties this year. Look out for a smaller bright yellow daffodil called ‘Quail’ from Taylors Bulbs as well as the white ‘Tullybeg’.

We will be opening up Woodland Walk* (just off Lake Walk) so that an additional 25 acres of outside space is available to you. Ancient daffodils were discovered just three years ago in this woodland area and confirmed by daffodil expert Johnny Walkers to be N. Telemonius Plenus. See if you can find them!

Make sure you download a copy of the map before you visit.

N.B. It is no longer essential to book in advance, although we do advise booking, especially for visits to the Castle.

*We recommend that you wear suitable footwear such as wellington boots or walking boots as the ground may be boggy in places.
