Jousting events

Summer Jousting Events:

June: 20 & 21(this event is now cancelled)
July: 11 & 12; 18 & 19; 25 & 26 (all July dates are now cancelled)
August: 8 & 9, 15 & 16; 21 – 23; 28 – 31 (new Fri 21 Aug date added)

This summer the Knights of Royal England will be entertaining the crowds with exhilarating displays of action, stunts, falls and fights in an authentic arena complete with a Royal Box.

Battling it out in the saddle and on foot in one-to-one combat, the valiant knights will then compete for points to find this season’s ultimate champion.

Bring a blanket or watch the joust in style from the medieval spectator stands, available for prebooking (see below). Then choose which knights you support and cheer them to glory.

Please note we’re operating in a different way to normal with a maximum capacity. Some new safety measures will also be in place and the popular procession with Henry VIII, Anne Boleyn and the Knights of Royal England from the Castle Forecourt to the Jousting arena will not happen this year.

Entry to the Jousting Field is on a first come first served basis. We cannot guarantee entry for everyone.

Timings
1:00pm – The jousting field opens
2:00pm – Arrival of Anne Boleyn and Henry VIII
2:15pm – The jousting tournament begins

Keep up to date with the jousting leader board throughout the season.

For Jousting, you will need to book a garden ticket with an arrival time online (including Annual Members), this is to limit numbers to protect yourself and each other.  You can book your date and arrival time using the button below.

You can upgrade to a Castle ticket at the Castle Entrance. This is because we are limiting numbers in rooms and cannot guarantee Castle entry for everyone.
