‘Twixmas’ is the name given to the peaceful interlude marking the end of the old year and the beginning of the next.
Christmas at Hever Castle continues into Twixmas, offering a welcome retreat from the business of the holiday season and a perfect opportunity for families to enjoy special moments together.
It’s a time to pause, blow away the cobwebs and unwind and have some fun amid the spirit of Christmas and New Year.
Hever Castle is open until Christmas Eve, and then between 27 December and 2 January, making this the perfect time to recharge after the hustle and bustle of Christmas. (Please see the website for opening times on these days.)

Take a stroll through the beautiful gardens and enjoy the sight of the Christmas trees against the winter sky, or pack your wellies and head out for an exhilarating walk around the Lake.
In the Castle, you will be met with beautiful traditionally decorated rooms with welcoming log fires and more twinkling trees.

Festive fun is to be had on the castle forecourt with ‘The Octopus’, a vintage children’s ride, alongside the big wheel and carousel.
A storybook adventure, in the form of Christmas in the Land of Oz, is one of this year’s key attractions at Hever. Begin your journey in Kansas, at Dorothy’s house, before being swept away to the colourful world of Oz.
Along the Wizard of Oz-inspired trail, visitors will see familiar characters including the Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Cowardly Lion, ultimately arriving at the dazzling Emerald City, brought to life by a striking green illumination on the historic castle from dusk.
If you have daytime tickets you can also spend time at the Play Areas, in the Yew Maze, Garden Exhibition, Military Museum and then see the Miniature Model Houses collection.
For those looking for some evening entertainment, immerse yourself in the magical atmosphere of Twixmas with the enchanting light experience from 4pm (excluding New Year’s Eve) when you can wrap up warm and enjoy a walk under the stars to explore the grounds. Witness the enchantment of the Castle, gardens and lake festooned with fabulous colours and twinkling lights, capturing the spirit of this festive period.

Savour the lingering Christmas spirit and prepare to be enchanted as you stroll through the illuminated grounds and see Hever Castle’s much-loved landmarks lit up.
