Celebrate Twixmas at Hever Castle

December 11 2023 | Castle

Nestled between the merriment of Christmas and the anticipation of New Year’s Eve lies Twixmas, a tranquil interlude that marks the end of one year and the beginning of another.

Christmas at Hever Castle continues into Twixmas and offers a welcome retreat from the whirlwind of the holiday season and a chance to savour more family moments. It’s also a time to pause, blow away the cobwebs and unwind and have some fun amid the festive glow.

Hever Castle is open until 24 December and then 27 December – 1 January, the perfect time to recharge after the hustle and bustle of Christmas.

Take a stroll through the gardens and enjoy the warm glow of the Redwood trees against the winter sky or take your wellies and head out for an exhilarating walk around the Lake.

In the Castle you will be met with beautiful traditionally decorated rooms with welcoming log fires and twinkling Christmas trees.

Enjoy a ride on the gallopers in front of the castle, head to the big wheel for views of the grounds from up high or try out the children’s train ride (additional charges apply).

Explore the charming ‘Lost in the Festive Forest’ festive trail with Red the Squirrel and discover the story of Ted the lost Bear who Red helps to find his way home.

If you have daytime tickets you can also spend time at the Play Areas, in the Yew Maze, Garden Exhibition, Military Museum and then see the Miniature Model Houses collection.

For those looking for some evening entertainment, immerse yourself in the magical atmosphere of Twixmas with the enchanting light experience from 4pm (excluding New Year’s Eve) when you can wrap up warm and enjoy a walk under the stars to explore the grounds. Witness the enchantment of the Castle, gardens and lake festooned with fabulous colours and twinkling lights, capturing the spirit of this festive period.

Savour the lingering Christmas spirit and prepare to be enchanted as you stroll through the illuminated grounds with torches and wellies to see Hever Castle’s much-loved landmarks lit up.
