The Knights of Royal England return to battle it out at the annual Hever Castle Jousting Tournament. Spectators will be treated to a thrilling show as the brave knights compete for points to find this season’s champion. Witness spectacular displays of action, stunts, falls and fights in an authentic arena complete with Royal Box.
Jousting is taking place on the following dates:
July: 16 & 17, 23 & 24, 30 & 31
August: 6 & 7, 13 & 14, 20 & 21, 26 – 29

Throughout the summer holidays (22 July – 31 August) take part in a series of free hands-on activities and enter the magic of Hever during medieval times.
Join our resident sorcerers and learn the tricks of the trade. Find out how to cast spells and how to execute the perfect wand waving technique. Pick up your broomstick and defend the castle from the dragon. Come dressed as fairy-tale characters, your favourite witch or wizard or perhaps as a brave knight. The list goes on!
After Spellbound Summer, see if you can help the Knights of Royal England find their lost shields. You’ll need to walk all around the gardens to track them down. Once you’ve found the shields, head into the Castle* and see if you can spot numerous eggs that have been laid by the dragon.

Enjoy a delicious Afternoon Tea served in the Anne Boleyn Wing, a room flooded with natural daylight with views through leaded windows across the orchard to the Castle.
This experience includes access to the Castle & Gardens (depending upon the ticket type chosen).
Sittings are at 30 min intervals between 13:00 and 15:30 and last for 1.5 hours.
Afternoon Teas must be pre-booked and are subject to availability.

Step back in time at Hever Castle during the August bank holiday weekend. Immerse yourself in different periods of history with encampments and re-enactments from the Middle Ages to as recent as 20th Century. Get up close to weaponry and suits of armour and try them on for size.

Annual Membership provides free daytime entry throughout the year. Over the summer we have plenty going on to keep everyone entertained including jousting, falconry displays, mazes and playgrounds.

Hever Castle has played host to many important events and celebrations for over 700 years.
Today the Astor Wing together with the Guthrie Pavilion in the Italian Garden and areas of the Castle itself are available for weddings, corporate events and private events. Each venue has its own unique character and offers peace, privacy and seclusion in one of the most historic and beautiful settings in England.

Within the grounds of the Hever Castle Estate, there are two opportunities for you to stay the night with us.
Hever Castle has played host to many important events and celebrations for over 600 years. In 1903 when William Waldorf Astor set about restoring Hever Castle to its former glory, he added the Astor Wing, to accommodate his family and guests, before creating a lake and the spectacular Italian Garden to house his impressive collection of ancient Greek and Roman statuary.
