BSL Jousting: August 21

This summer join us for a BSL (British Sign Langauge) Jousting Tournament.

On Saturday 21 August, a designated BLS area within the Jousting Field will be available with interpretation of the event for those with hearing impairments and their friends and families to enjoy.

The Knights of Royal England will be entertaining visitors with exhilarating displays of action, stunts, falls and fights in an authentic arena complete with a Royal Box. Battling it out in the saddle and on foot in one-to-one combat, the valiant knights will then compete for points to find this season’s ultimate champion. Choose which knight to support and then cheer them to glory.

timings:

BSL area opens at 2pm
Jousting tournament begins at 2:15pm
Jousting tournament finishes by 3:30pm

The BSL area will be signposted and roped off from the general public. To gain access to this area please show your email confirmation. Seating will be on the grass so you may wish to bring a blanket.

Please note that the popular procession with Henry VIII, Anne Boleyn and the Knights of Royal England from the Castle Forecourt to the Jousting arena will not happen this year.

New this year, there will be photographers at the event. They will be busy snapping away and if you’d like to purchase any photos taken of you just head to their website

Keep up to date with the jousting leader board throughout the season. View a gallery of photos on Hever Castle’s Pinterest.
