Step back in time to wartime Britain at Hever’s Home Front at this 1940s event.
Treat Dad to a Father’s Day he won’t forget as you meet a variety of enthusiastic reenactors who tell the story of the era through living history.
Experience the sights and smells of the time with authentic cooking along with displays of military vehicles. Browse stalls selling vintage wares and refreshments.
Step into the shoes of those during the time by dressing up in period costume and finish off your outfit with a trip to a 1940s hair salon.
Get into the groove and take part in a dance lesson on the lawn.
Hever in Bloom showcases the glorious award winning gardens at the height of their summer beauty. You will be able to enjoy one of the finest displays of more than 5,000 roses in Kent, the Garden of England.
Featuring expert talks, a specialist plant fair and hands-on floral workshops, Hever in Bloom is a true gardening showcase.
The Plant Fairs Roadshow, are a collective of specialist growers, award winning nurseries and garden equipment. Their expert growers offer an amazing array of interesting and unusual plants that are hard to find, as well as being on hand to provide you with the best possible advice on how to grow.
In its 40th Anniversary season, this summer, the Knights of Royal England return to battle it out at the annual Hever Castle Jousting Tournament. Spectators will be treated to a thrilling show as the brave knights compete for points to find this season’s champion. Witness spectacular displays of action, stunts, falls and fights in an authentic arena complete with Royal Box.

Step into the world of knights, legends and medieval adventure at Hever Castle from 22 July to 31 August 2026. We call to squires both young and old. Have you got what it takes to join the Knights of the Round Table?
As Hever Castle celebrates 40 years of jousting, children are invited to follow in the footsteps of legendary knights and begin their training under the guidance of King Arthur’s Court.
Through a series of interactive challenges and activities, aspiring knights will test their strength, courage and skill while learning the values of chivalry, teamwork and bravery. Young squires can take part in hobby horse jousting, knightly training and medieval-inspired games before completing their adventure with a memorable photo opportunity at the legendary Sword in the Stone.

History lovers can enjoy four days of fascinating talks, discussions and family activities at The Festival Theatre’s History Festival, returning to Hever Castle from 5 to 8 August 2026. The programme brings together leading historians, bestselling authors and broadcasters, including Alison Weir, Tracy Borman, Kate Williams, Helen Carr and Amy Licence, exploring subjects ranging from Tudor politics and royal women to medieval England and hidden histories.
Alongside the talks, families can take part in interactive Tudor workshops presented by the Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich, where younger visitors can discover Tudor life through hands-on activities, including learning to joust. Highlights also include curator-led insights into Hever Castle’s Anne Boleyn exhibition and discussions examining the enduring legacy of England’s most famous queen. Tickets are on sale now, with discounts available for multiple bookings on the same day.

Hever Castle has played host to many important events and celebrations for over 600 years. In 1903 when William Waldorf Astor set about restoring Hever Castle to its former glory, he added the Astor Wing, to accommodate his family and guests, before creating a lake and the spectacular Italian Garden to house his impressive collection of ancient Greek and Roman statuary.
